The Day Japan Fears The Most

Chris Broad and the Virgin Earth team set out to create a high-quality documentary about the impending mega-earthquake that threatens Tokyo. While planning the documentary, which included storyboarding and reaching out to experts on Tokyo's preparedness, we decided to incorporate the recent Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on New Year's Day 2024.

During filming, the documentary's focus shifted dramatically when we visited Wajima city and learned that the city was still in turmoil 9 months after the earthquake struck. The stories were touching and the sight was horrifying as buildings were still collapsed and the livelihood of the community was struggling from the lack of government support and manpower to rebuild.

This documentary was produced by the “A Broad in Japan” Youtube channel and Virgin Earth Inc. I had the fortunate opportunity of contributing to this documentary as both director and director of photography.
