Sex with Emotion

Her place was a well organized but typical small apartment for a single woman living in Tokyo. It rained hard, but then the weather slowed down and only light raindrops could be heard. The downpour added an extra desire for companionship.

She returned to the bedroom and sat by my side. The hour of the night surrounded us in darkness. I could not see her eyes, but felt her making eye contact with me. All I could see was her silhouette from the ambience of the streetlights coming through the window. She was emotionally hard to read, so I had to ask her.

“Have you ever been in love?”

“Hmmm,” she sounds off quietly. She thought about it for a moment and said, “Maybe, I am not sure.”

Her tone of voice veiled the idea of love in mystery. I could have asked if anyone ever loved her and I might have gotten the same answer. I wanted to ask what happened, but she asked first.

“Have you even been in love?”

“Yes.”

“What happened?” she asked.

I gave a pause and noticed her attentive eyes reveal themselves to me.

I answered, “I moved to Japan.”
