CHÉRI OWADA

The changing seasons bring a fleeting beauty, much like the cherry blossoms' brief bloom, making this time of year enchanting. Life mirrors this transience, reminding us that nothing lasts forever in the grand scheme of time. Yet, there's a profound beauty in this fleetingness, akin to the allure of mortality. The ancient Greeks might have seen this as the reason why the gods would envy us—our ability to cherish the ephemeral and find beauty in impermanence.

I have also taken this as a change not just in nature but also from within. By chance or fate I moved here right at the change of the season and was welcomed by these gorgeous plants, the parks, and the feeling of something indescribable.

  • “The gods envy us. They envy us because we’re mortal, because any moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again.”
